This information is pre-Katrina.
Although the information linked from this page is out-of-date, we are continuing to make it available, as it provides insight about this district pre-Katrina.

Why isn't the Warehouse Arts District its own neighborhood?
To prevent splitting Census tracts, we've included the Warehouse District in the Lower Garden District neighborhood. So, when you're looking at this neighborhood, consider that, as is often the case, it contains pockets of different types of residents and architecture.

Isn't St. Thomas Development torn down?
Although the St. Thomas Housing Development has been demolished, there is a bustling of (sometimes controversial) development in that area now. We've decided to publish the 2000 Census data on that area anyway, but keep in mind that the numbers are no longer accurate.

About neighborhood boundaries:
We've chosen the neighborhood boundaries on this web site to organize and present data. They may not match the boundaries of neighborhood associations, redevelopment corridors, commercial subdivisions, planning efforts, or historic districts. Learn more about how we chose these boundaries...
