TEDxNOLA

Large parts of the U.S. are at risk of catastrophic disaster and following a disaster there is often a vacuum of data. In this presentation at TEDxNOLA, Dr. Allison Plyer tells the story of how The Data Center had a mechanism in place to identify data needs as they arose and how they began to develop and disseminate the most reliable data to address those needs. Another lesson learned was that to truly democratize data, one needs to not solely depend on the internet but must also get on TV and radio.
