Erica Amrine is a management consultant for The Data Center. Erica has more than a decade of experience in the start-up and management of non-profit, community, and art oriented organizations and programs.
Erica began working with The Data Center in the fall of 2015 to assist in the launching of The New Orleans Index at 10. She has continued to work with the staff and consultants, lending daily administrative support and assisting with internal projects and events. Prior to The Data Center, she worked in fine arts as the manager of The Foundation Gallery on both Julia St. and in The French Quarter.
She has also served as a community organizer in her Bywater neighborhood for the past 13 years, working closely with neighborhood groups to decrease crime and blight, preserve green space, and advocate for affordable housing and appropriate zoning. In 2010, she co-founded a pocket park, Clouet Gardens, that has become an integral part of the community, where she hosts and organizes frequent neighborhood events and fundraisers for local non profits. She also served as the treasurer for the neighborhood association.
Before coming to New Orleans, Erica lived in New York City where she worked in the development office of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Space, and as the office manager of Advanced Urological Care.
Erica has a BS in Urban Studies from the University of New Orleans and a self-designed BA in Visual Arts, History, and Business Management from Antioch College, Yellow Springs, OH.
